Bio
I began my career in the fashion industry as a model here in Chicago - working for clients like Marshall Field's, Carson Pirie Scott, and Spiegel. I loved the business, however, Chicago was a very conservative market as far as fashion goes. I loved the art of photography and fashion and wanted to be able to express my passion. Europe was the place to go. I studied Italian and French Vogue like it was my Bible. I began doing photos with photographers that had similar tastes and worked with Stan Malinowski, celebrity photographers, Jerry Avenaim and Helmut Lipchis, and many other very talented photographers who gave me a chance to express myself, outside the rigid constraints of commercial Chicago.
An agent from Paris came here to Chicago to find new talent, and chose three girls to go and work in Paris - I was one. The photos that we created here in Chicago were what they wanted to see in the world of high fashion in Paris.
Modeling took me to Paris, Milan, Tokyo, Barcelona and many other places, I appeared in the pages of Elle Magazine, ads for L'Oreal Paris, Takashimaya Tokyo, Blaupunkt Stereo, etc. etc.. Not a super-model, but I made a good living and was lucky enough to travel all over the world doing what I love.
I always knew I wanted to work behind the camera, as a makeup artist. I worked with some of the best makeup artists in the business, and learned quite a few things along the way.
I always had a love for art, photography and fashion and when I came home to Chicago, settled down and started a family - I naturally gravitated toward what I know and love. I have been passionate and working in this field since the age of fourteen. I couldn't do anything else and be happy.
I began doing makeup for women on the North Shore. Weddings and special occasions at places like the Four Seasons,
The Ritz, Chicago Cultural Center, Lake Forest Academy, and The Standard Club. Word quickly spread and I developed a very loyal clientele of women - in some cases two and three generations of women from the same family.
I have had the pleasure and privilege to be present at some of the most important events in the lives of people, and I love every minute of it.
My work can be seen in publications like
New City Magazine, Time Out Chicago, Today's Chicago Woman, Money Magazine, and in the
portfolios of Elite Models.
Some of my commercial projects
include a United Healthcare Ad campaign and a coffee table book entitled "Women At The
Table" listed on the CEO best-seller list.
I am currently represented for
commercial / fashion work by Artists By Timothy Priano, a division of
Elite Model Management.
